What we seed
Starter profiles may include basic public business information:
- Business or farm name
- What they grow, raise, bake, or make
- Market, shop, website, or public social links
- Approximate public location when useful for discovery
- Public business contact information when it is clearly meant for customers
- Public business photos only when the source and provenance are recorded
Starter profiles are generated from public information and automated checks. Outreach is sent only when the system finds a credible public business or vendor email. There is no manual approval step before outreach.
What we do not seed
- Personal cell numbers unless clearly published as a business contact
- Home addresses for home-based sellers unless the address is explicitly public as a storefront, farm stand, market, or customer pickup location
- Family member names, children’s names, or private personal details
- Private customer information or private contact lists
- Anything that makes the page look claimed, approved, endorsed, or partnered when it is not
Photos and sources
Neutral placeholders are the default. A photo is published only with owner permission or upload, compatible license or public-domain evidence, Genesis ownership, or a limited starter-image state where the image comes from a public source and is pending owner approval. That pending public-source label records provenance only; it does not imply endorsement, business permission, reuse rights, or human review. The secure owner edit link can keep, replace, or clear a photo independently.
Owner control
If this is your business, use the owner box on the profile page to request a secure edit link. Use Request removal if you want the page taken down.
Removal SLA: A secure manage link is a verified capability and removes the profile immediately. The public removal form also removes it immediately when the submitted email matches the private email on file, though an email match is not proof of ownership. Either route automatically records a permanent opt-out for a starter profile, preventing the same owner identity from being used for a future starter profile. If the email does not match, nothing is removed or reported. To report an inaccurate or inactive listing, select Report this profile on the profile page and choose the reason that applies.

No paid ranking
Genesis Local does not sell paid placement, paid ranking, ads above local businesses, private contact information, or customer relationships. Nobody can pay to outrank the people doing the actual work.
If something is wrong
Use the edit or removal tools on the page, or email hello@genesislocal.org. The system will route the request through Genesis Local’s automated owner-control flow, not a sales funnel.
