A vouch is a neighbor's first-hand recommendation. It uses a real first name and explains what they found or bought and why the farmer or artisan is worth finding. Helpful votes, replies, reports, and community notes add context without turning the page into a ratings contest.

Yes. A Genesis QR code is just a link to that maker's profile on our site. It opens in your normal browser, doesn't download anything, doesn't ask for personal info. You can also just type the URL printed underneath the code if you'd rather not scan.

Find their profile, choose "Vouch for them," and share what you found or bought and why you recommend them. It takes about a minute and does not require an account.

Genesis Local was built because the industrial food system hides too many real producers. We're not a startup chasing venture capital. We're a small, hands-on operation that believes your local farmer deserves to be found by their neighbors. No ads, no paid placements, no premium tiers. Just a platform that does one thing well.

Profiles can be added by farmers and artisans, neighbors, or trusted public market sources. Starter profiles are used only to seed a few key areas and are clearly labeled until the owner claims them. Owners can correct or remove their page, and neighbors can add context or report concerns.

Genesis Local is a discovery and trust platform, not a marketplace. We do not handle transactions or deliveries. Talk directly with the farmer or artisan first. You can also leave an honest vouch, add useful context, or report a profile if something seems wrong.
